    Cellcept and plaquenil

It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

I was recently diagnosed with CNS Lups in July. My Rhuemy wants to put me on plaquenil and cellcept. I am scared and don't really want to start the drugs, but am really confused as to what to do. I was on Plaquenil and Azathioprine and my doctor switched me to CellCept. I have a lot of reservations regarding this medication and therefore have not started it yet. Can anyone who has been on this before please offer me some words of advice regarding this med? Certain products may make it harder for your body to absorb mycophenolate if they are taken at the same time. Do not take this medication at the same time as antacids containing aluminum and/or magnesium, cholestyramine, colestipol, or calcium -free phosphate binders such as aluminum products, lanthanum, sevelamer.

For example, it may be combined with an antibiotic to treat chronic Q-fever, which humans usually catch from farm animals or raw milk. Plaquenil is used to treat other types of infections too.

Cellcept is an immunosupressant. We take it for Sjogrens to reduce the reactions of our over active immune system. However it leads us vulnerable to infections. If you have an infection, you want your immune system to be working at a high level, to attack the bug that is causing the infection. May 07, 2010 Hey Tammy! Sorry to hear about your kidneys getting worse! I was on cellcept for about 8 months and I was an odd ball. Had pretty much every side effect possible, and from what I understand, most people don't have very many side effects and it usually works great on the kidneys. Dr. Emma MacDermott CellCept is one of the immunosuppressives used in lupus. For instance, it is often used as a maintenance therapy after induction with agents such as cyclophosphamide and has the advantage for patients of being an oral medication. Hello.

Chloroquine has long been used in the treatment or prevention of malaria from Plasmodium vivax, P. malariae, excluding the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, for it started to develop widespread resistance to it. What can Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil do to my eyes? Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil was originally used to treat malaria and is now used mostly to treat rheumatological and dermatological diseases. Its most frequent use now is for Rheumatoid Arthritis RA and Lupus and is often very effective in mitigating the joint and arthritic symptoms these diseases can cause.
